Bio

Stephen Smith, a.k.a Smitty/Steve Bosston/ Smidi Waters, founder of W.A.T.E.R (When All Truth Enters Reality) Entertainment Group. Often known to be ahead of the times, his talents to produce, write, rap and entertain were recognized early on by such legends as DJ Grandmaster Flash, the late Guru, DJ Premier( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTvP6q0SQbA ) and many others.
Born in the South Bronx, NY - Smidi later grew up in Roxbury and Dorchester Massachusetts where his passion to heal others through entertainment began to emerge. Often appearing on television, in videos and many live performances and opening acts for such notable artists as Doug E. Fresh, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice T, KRS 1, and many others.
In 1986 - Smidi caught the attention of the late rapper, Guru (Gang Starr), who strongly encouraged him to write and rap. Smidi later joined the group Gang Starr Posse. And, by 1988 was given the opportunity to collaborate with Grandmaster Flash on the production of the singles “Read The Label” and “It’s How You Cope.” Each single won a Boston Music Award in the Outstanding Rap Category in 1989 and 1990 respectively. This exposure led to Smitty’s first opportunity to produce music when he met Ed O.G. and The Bulldogs.

Smidi went on to work as a Production Assistant on VH1‘s Dive Live Show while displaying his skills in just about every entertainment arena possible from music production to radio, cable, television ads, and theater, often assisting and collaborating with others. His media credits include music production for MTV’s Lyricist’s Lounge - Vote Fuoliani episode, with Master Fuol and Mos Def; Radio Spots for Reebok; and, clothing designer, Antonio Ansaldi.

In 2001 Smitty was predicted by Rap Review.com as one of the most impressive artists, to blow up over time” when he produced his own track “How you Gonna Be a Killer?” on Guru’s - Baldhead Slick
